Oticon Hearing Aids
Oticon OPN S
In keeping with the popular Opn series, Opn S is built on a new sound processing platform, Velox S, which Oticon claims dramatically improves the efficiency of the hearing aids in three ways:
- A 15% improvement in speech versus Opn
- A Listening effort reduction of 10% compared to Opn
- A Memory recall rise of 10% over Opn
The Opn features some of Oticon’s best technology, including:
BrainHearing: This is a breakthrough technology in sound processing, designed to reduce listening, lead to a better understanding of voices, and help remember more of what you have heard. Oticon claims that technology enables you to use more of your brain to interpret speech to hear and recall what’s being said through the decreased mental processing power needed to understand speech in noise.
Speech Rescue LX: This translates frequencies to levels where the person has less hearing loss and improves understanding in this way.
OpenSound Optimizer: It offers maximum gain by evaluating various listening conditions and changing the amplification rates automatically.
OpenSound Booster: Open S wearers can enable their hearing aids to minimize non-speech sound sources and background noise further with the click of a button.
Four Oticon Opn S hearing aid models are available. The Opn S MiniRITE is a Receiver-in-canal (RIC) powered by a 312 battery, with a telecoil being attached to the Opn S MiniRITE T. The Opn S MiniRITE R is also a t-coil RIC powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. And Opn S BTE PP is a behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid operated by a 13-size battery, supporting people with more significant hearing loss.
