Oticon Intent
The Oticon Intent is a rechargeable receiver-in-canal hearing aid with 4D sensor technology that adapts to your listening intentions, AI sound processing, and Bluetooth LE Audio connectivity.
Most hearing aids process sound the same way regardless of what you're focused on. The Oticon Intent works differently, using 4D sensor technology to track conversation activity, head movement, body movement, and the acoustic environment, then adjusting its support in real time based on where your attention is directed. It's a compact, rechargeable receiver-in-canal device powered by Oticon's Sirius platform — the same chipset found in the Oticon Zeal — and is available at our Las Vegas and Henderson offices.
Key Features of the Oticon Intent
Patients considering the Intent often want to understand what sets it apart from other receiver-in-canal options. Here's what it offers across the features that matter most.
- 4D User-Intent Sensors — Tracks conversation activity, head position, body movement, and the acoustic environment to adjust sound support in real time based on what you're trying to hear.
- BrainHearing™ Technology — Provides a full, open sound environment that supports the brain's natural processing, reducing listening effort and fatigue over the course of the day.
- Deep Neural Network 2.0 (DNN 2.0) — Always-on AI processing that preserves speech clarity and suppresses background noise across quiet and noisy environments alike.
- Bluetooth LE Audio Connectivity — Streams audio from smartphones (iOS and Android), TVs, tablets, PCs, and Apple Watch®, with hands-free calling and Auracast™ compatibility for public venues.
- Rechargeable with SmartCharger — Up to 20 hours of battery life on a single overnight charge, with a 30-minute charge providing up to 8 hours of use and the optional SmartCharger offering additional charges on the go.
- Self-Calibrating miniFit Detect Speakers — Automatically calibrates for precise gain and a fuller sound experience across a frequency range of 80 Hz to 10,000 Hz, with 24 channels for fine-tuning.
Who Is a Good Fit for the Oticon Intent?
The Intent is suited for adults across a range of hearing loss levels who want a discreet, full-featured receiver-in-canal hearing aid. It's a particularly practical choice for those who move between varied listening environments throughout the day — conversations at home, meetings, restaurants, social gatherings — where the sensor-driven adaptation is most noticeable. Patients with more severe hearing loss may be candidates as well; we'll assess your audiogram and discuss which option makes the most sense for your situation.
Patients who prioritize near-invisibility over a behind-the-ear fit may want to consider the Oticon Zeal instead, which offers the same Sirius platform in a completely-in-ear form factor. Both options are available at our practice, and we're happy to walk you through the differences.
